In this podcast we bring you an interview with Dr. Kelly Swanson, Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences in the Department of Animal Sciences and Division of Nutritional Sciences and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Swanson is working in an exciting new field of nutritional research known as the Microbiome. In this podcast he discusses his research and a project called The American Gut Project. In this podcast we bring you an interview with Dr. Heather Chandler. Dr. Chandler received her PhD in veterinary biosciences from The Ohio State University where she is now an Assistant Professor of Optometry. Dr. Chandler's primary research focus is to understand the mechanisms by which cataracts and secondary cataracts form, and she is currently funded by CHF to determine whether treatment with an anti-inflammatory drug called Cyclosporine A can improve the outcome of cataract surgery.
